  3. Carnival is Antigua’s big annual festival and is held in late July until the first Tuesday in August. The parade is a wonderful expression of colour, music and dancing and is not to be missed if you are there at this time.

  4. Antigua Sailing week which occurs in April is one of the top five yachting regattas in the world with over 200 boats entering and many more spectating. By day see some of the best boats in the world going head to head and by night party under the starts drinking the local rum

Antigua is an English speaking island of only 108 sq. miles, with a population of approximately 100,000 people. US Dollars are accepted everywhere and the local currency is the EC Dollar.

Direct Flights from the USA

  • American Airlines flies direct from JFK every Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. American Airlines also flies direct from Miami on a daily basis.
  • United Airlines flies direct from Newark (EWR) every Saturday and Sunday. Flights are also available on other days depending on the time of year.
  • Delta Airlines flies direct from Atlanta (ATL) and from JFK every Saturday.
  • U.S. Airways flies direct from Charlotte NC (CTL) every Saturday.
  • If you are flying from a U.S city that is far away from any of the above airports your best option is to use American Airlines with a same day connection through New York, Miami or San Juan.

  • British Airways flies daily from London Gatwick.
  • Virgin Atlantic flies from London Gatwick every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday in summer and every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday in Winter.
